what they said...

I think happiness is what makes you pretty. Period. Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness. │ Drew Barrymore

You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness. │ Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
(sometimes I wish I had this etched on the palm of my hand so I could carry it as a constant reminder–so I could literally wrap my fist around it).

Back to preschool...

A day in the life of a preschoolers is long and rough but so very fun.
I've been thoroughly enjoying myself and the little "friends."
On fridays, I will post quotes of the week because kids are just downright hilarious.

MONDAY CONFESSIONS.

I wish I had photos but I don't. . .

Confession #1: In October I am running a half marathon. According to my training schedule I was supposed to begin on the first of this month. It's the eleventh and I think that I've run maybe three times.

Confession #2: Sometimes (if the waiting time isn't too long) I chat with the people on Mormon.org under the name of Beth. I ask all my soul searching questions and they usually never give me the answers that I want. But I keep going back because I know it's a safe place.

Confession #3: I once backed out of a date after I found out his favorite band was Hoobastank.

Confession #4: If there's anything that really gets me down about being human it's the fact that sleep is a necessity. Don't get me wrong. Cuddling up for a Sunday nap and feeling revived in the morning is as great as finding five bucks in your pocket. But do you not realize how much I could get done in those few short hours of sleep? How many more Wikipedia pages could I could add to my repertoire of useless information? When you examine the ratio of episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Netflix to the amount of hours in a day, sleep just seems so arbitrary. It's really very simple math.

Confession #5: I promised myself that I would never play 2048. But I did and immediately after I beat it I realized that there's a 4096. And I promised myself again that I wouldn't play it. We will see how long that lasts.

SUNDAY QUOTE

I think that bad things happen to good people not because God is trying to see how much they can handle, but because He knows that they will triumph.

As of late

My computer died. The will-never-work-again kind of died. Luckily all the data was salvaged, which is all I really cared about anyway.. .

And since it's kind of difficult to write when you don't have an easily accessible keyboard, which is the medium I prefer, I'm just going to update you through my recent Instagram posts.

I work at a preschool these days. I say "these days" like I've actually started but I haven't. I was supposed to but my fingerprint clearance hasn't come through yet. So I'm waiting. And while waiting I decided that it's actually okay to wear stretchy pants. I don't know exactly when or why it became such an ordeal and then eventually somewhat socially unacceptable but it's whatever. They're comfortable and do cover me. Some people wear crocs, some people (me) wear stretchy pants. And I don't even care what other people have to say about it.

This is my girl Sister Poppe (or Sister Poppdizzlemyfizzle as I like to call her) and me after we had dinner on P-day.

She is my Tina Fey and I am her Amy Poehler.

We were in the MTC at the same time and lived together when we first came to Mesa. She saved my life. Seriously. I had a right go about with my first companion. We had late night talk which were actually more like debriefings and laughed until rivers ran down our faces. She will take over the world someday. After she converts the whole face of Mesa. I have no doubts.

Follow her hilarious and honest blog at preachitgirl.blogspot.com.
(I don't know how or if I can make a link from my phone.)
